On Friday, 24 October 2025, an official sod-turning ceremony was held to mark the beginning of Sundrift Exmouth — a new coastal neighbourhood that captures the essence of Exmouth’s natural beauty, community spirit, and future growth.
Held overlooking the canals on the Sundrift site, the event brought together government representatives, project leaders, and members of the local community to celebrate this exciting milestone.
Guest speakers Kevin Michel MLA, Exmouth Shire President Matt Niikkula and Fowler Group Director Bob Fowler shared their vision for the project, highlighting how Sundrift will enhance the Exmouth Marina precinct with thoughtfully planned residential lots, lifestyle connectivity, and strong links to the town’s natural and social fabric.
As part of the milestone, Exmouth Civil was officially announced as the head contractor for Stage 1 earthworks, which will deliver 112 lots across the northern portion of the site. Construction is scheduled to commence in November 2025 and reach completion in November 2026 — marking a major step forward for the region’s housing supply and economic growth.
