Construction at Sundrift Exmouth continues to move forward, with significant progress across the development bringing the vision for this new coastal neighbourhood another step closer to reality.
With many of the major civil works now approximately 95% complete, activity is increasingly shifting towards roads, electrical and nbn infrastructure as Sundrift progresses towards its scheduled construction completion in December 2026.
Major civil works nearing completion
Earthworks, sewer, drainage, water and retaining walls have now reached approximately 95% completion, with only finishing works remaining over the coming months.
The scale of these works has been substantial. More than 100,000 cubic metres of pindan and subgrade fill has been imported to the site to raise the development and ensure every lot achieves its required finished level.
These works have established the foundations upon which Sundrift’s future homes, streets and public spaces will be created.
Roadworks now well underway
Another significant milestone is the progression of Sundrift’s internal road network.
Road subgrade works are approximately 70% complete, while construction of the subbase has recently commenced.
During September, the road subbase, basecourse and primer seal are scheduled for completion, before asphalting commences in October.
As these works progress, the layout of the future Sundrift neighbourhood will become increasingly defined on the ground.
Full fibre connectivity for every lot
Electrical and nbn infrastructure works are also underway and currently approximately 20% complete, with both scheduled for completion in September.
Importantly, Sundrift will feature nbn Fibre to the Premises (FTTP).
Rather than fibre terminating elsewhere within the neighbourhood, full fibre will be delivered directly to every lot, providing future residents with access to some of the fastest internet options available in Exmouth.
It is another important piece of infrastructure designed to support the way residents will live, work and connect at Sundrift.
Looking ahead to December
With major civil works nearing completion and road and service infrastructure advancing, construction remains on track for completion in December 2026.
This important milestone will allow purchasers to look ahead to commencing construction of their new homes early next year.
Beyond the residential lots themselves, Stage 1 will also incorporate three areas of public open space, helping create landscaped places for residents and the broader community to enjoy. Landscaping of these spaces is scheduled to commence early next year.
From masterplan to neighbourhood
Each construction milestone is making the future Sundrift community increasingly visible.
From more than 100,000 cubic metres of imported fill beneath the development to the roads, services and fibre infrastructure now taking shape, the work underway today is creating the foundations for a new residential community within one of Western Australia’s most remarkable coastal locations.
